Hello, my name is Bethany Frye, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker here at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy. I’m excited to connect with you and share a bit about myself and my approach. As you explore my background and the way I work, it’s crucial that you feel confident in choosing the right practitioner for your journey. I’m here to provide a supportive and non-judgemental space where we can collaboratively navigate your unique experiences.
Bethany Frye, LCSW-S
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
My ideal client would be an individual (any identification) aged 16-42 who might struggle with relationships, in the middle of a life transition, just received a diagnoses of like depression, has a mild to moderate substance use disorder, or who has been in recovery for a while or a student who has a learning disability and wants to start advocating for themselves. I work with CBT & EMDR to work on how our brain communicates to use and at times high jacks our emotions system.
I come from a compassionate spot and really work on being the individual that might bring things from the unconscious to conscious. I also love working on self-care and how little things that we do can really make a change in the BIG picture. Whether you are wanting to work on self-worth, gain better coping strategies, or just be heard; I am here to help.
I wholeheartedly believe that therapy begins with simply a willingness to improve ourselves. There is no such thing as perfection, but there is such a thing as progress and self-awareness. The best part about therapy is being able to look back at where you began and see just how far you have come.
Credentials
Education
I’ve always been passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges. Born and raised in Temple, Texas. My academic journey led me to study Social Work at Angelo State University after graduation. Discovering a profound passion for others I set out on the path to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Achieving my Masters in Social Work from Texas State University, I specialize in substance use and stress. As a LCSW, I’ve worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, providing individual and group counseling to adults. I am committed to creating a therapeutic space where clients can explore their concerns with safety and empathy.
Personal Interests
As for me personally, I love to bake, fly fish, take walks, and spend time in local coffee shops. My favorite way to pass time is spending it with my husband and our young daughter. On most nights, I am unwinding with the latest hit documentary or listening to a podcast, all while trying to split attention between my 3 cats, Pepper, Piper, and Pusheen. I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you better!
