I work with adults and children. I consider my patient’s cultural context and values, so our work together is sensitive, relevant, and respectful of your individuality. My practice also includes and affirms queer-identified people. I know how one’s intersecting identities can shape one’s experiences. I am here to offer guidance, validation, and understanding. With children, I provide a space for kids to learn about their feelings and how to process them. I draw from child-centered play therapy techniques and tailor my approach to honor your child’s agency, individual preferences, and interests.

I take a personal and collaborative approach to counseling, in the sense that I want to work with my patients to figure out what they need from counseling. Generally, I try to balance subjective exploration with more directive problem solving and symptom management. Patients have generally reported that they have gotten a lot from their work with me, and that they feel empowered to move forward using the insights and skills they picked up through our work.

I understand that starting therapy and finding the right counselor can be a challenging and sometimes anxiety-provoking experience. I invite you to reach out if you are interested in setting up an appointment with me, and then we can work together to figure out the best approach for you and your therapeutic journey!
