Thank you for taking the first step to your therapeutic journey! I am Shunta (pronounced Sh-on-tay), LPC. I hope this page helps you get a better sense of my therapeutic style and determine whether we are a great fit.
Shunta Antwi, LPC
- Work best with: Women
- Appointments: Telehealth only
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
I tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs by integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based approaches to help patients develop practical coping skills, gain insight, and achieve lasting emotional well-being.
During the intake session, patients can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where we begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, personal history, relationships, strengths, and treatment goals to gain a comprehensive understanding of your needs. By the end of the session, we’ll collaborate on an individualized treatment plan and discuss the next steps to support your progress and healing.
Patients frequently tell me they feel more empowered, experience reduced symptoms of anxiety or depression, have healthier relationships, and approach difficult situations with greater resilience and self-compassion. One of the most meaningful outcomes is hearing patients say they now feel hopeful, capable, and confident in their ability to continue applying the skills they’ve learned long after therapy has ended.
Patients often tell me they appreciate my ability to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space while also providing practical tools they can apply in their everyday lives. They describe me as genuine, and easy to talk to, yet direct enough to gently challenge unhelpful patterns and encourage meaningful growth.
