Hello, I’m Lisa Skalla, Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My goal is to create a space that feels steady, compassionate, and responsive to deeper healing.
Lisa Skalla, LCSW
- Work best with: Adults, Older Adults, Veterans
- Appointments: Both in-person and telehealth
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
I have extensive training and experience in trauma, chronic pain, chronic illness, grief, and major life transitions. My work focuses on PTSD, anxiety, and depression, especially when tied to medical complexities, prolonged stress, or identity exploration. I help patients understand how these challenges impact their emotions, bodies, and relationships, so they can navigate them in a way that feels manageable and meaningful.
I primarily use EMDR, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), blending in mindfulness, somatic work, and creative expression when helpful. My goal is to weave these approaches in a way that feels natural, practical, and supportive of each person’s unique pace.
Patients can expect to feel seen and heard from the start. I focus on understanding concerns and goals for therapy and use the initial paperwork as a blueprint for conversation to gather more information and create direction. Many appreciate how I integrate structured approaches like EMDR and somatic techniques with a relational approach that helps them acquaint with a steadier, more centered sense of self. Patients have expressed gaining a deeper sense of self-trust, emotional flexibility and ability to navigate difficulties with more clarity and care.
