At Deep Centered Mental Health, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy should be individualized — just like you. We pride ourselves on not following one plan or treatment modality that we think will work for everyone.
During sessions, your therapist will spend time learning about your past, your current challenges, and your short and long term goals. Sessions are collaborative. We may use structured strategies when they’re helpful, but the focus is always on what you bring to the room.
Your therapist will listen to you attentively and empathetically, and ask you questions to help you clarify your thoughts and feelings, identify and address any unhealthy or distorted beliefs that may be affecting you, and develop new skills and strategies to cope with your problems and achieve your goals.
Therapy is a collaborative process that requires your active participation and commitment. You and your therapist will work together to set realistic and achievable goals for your therapy. You will also work together to monitor your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed. You may also have homework assignments between sessions to practice what you learned in therapy or to prepare for the next session.
Therapy isn’t simply about your problems. It’s also about your strengths and personal resources. Not sure what those are? That’s common. Many people find it harder to talk about their strengths. We’re here to help you identify strengths that can help you handle challenges in a healthy way.
We understand that the therapeutic process looks different for everyone. Some people find change by taking small steps while others experience breakthroughs that happen fairly quickly. You set the pace.
Above all, we believe that real change happens through a genuine therapeutic connection. The foundation of therapy is having a genuine connection with your therapist. Real growth is possible only when you feel understood and safe.
