What Is TMS?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-cleared treatment for depression that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Unlike medication, TMS works by directly targeting the neural circuits associated with depression.
Treatment is noninvasive and does not require anesthesia, sedation, or recovery time. Patients remain awake during sessions and can return to normal daily activities afterward. TMS is often recommended for people who haven't experienced enough improvement with antidepressants or who are looking for another option.
