I most often use relational therapy with elements of IFS, emotion focused, and narrative therapies blended in. Relational therapy is the root of our work – helping patients find mutually satisfying relationships as well as giving attention to the larger systems the patient is a part of. My patients can expect to feel welcomed into our therapy space. I’m great for those familiar with therapy and first timers. I’m open to questions, worries, concerns, anything a patient might be feeling in the moment.
My patients have told me that they’ve enjoyed working with me, that I’ve provided a space for them to explore, grow, and discover their strengths. My patients have been able to heal old wounds, build up their tool kit of strategies to combat negative feelings, and success making new friends. Patients have noted that my non-judgmental approach helps them to feel free to say what is on their mind without fear, usually helping them uncover something about themselves. I create a space where a patients full self is welcome, and I’m patient as we build trust in the therapeutic bond. My teen patients have said I’m “cool for an old person”, which I hold as the highest of praise!
