Hi, I’m Cathi, LPC. I bring warmth, curiosity, and genuine care to the therapy space, with a special focus on supporting children and their families. I hope this page helps you get a better sense of my therapeutic style and determine whether we are a great fit.
Cathi Beresford, LPC
- Work best with: Children, Teens, Adults, Older Adults
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
I’m passionate about supporting individuals at all stages of life, from children learning to express themselves to adults navigating transitions and challenges. My therapy style is rooted in a person-centered approach, where empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard create a safe and supportive space for growth. Building a genuine and trusting relationship with each individual patient is my greatest goal. I approach every person with curiosity and understanding, creating space for their authentic self to be seen and heard.
The parents of the children I worked with state the child show greater confidence and much better emotional regulation both at home and in the classroom. Adults have told me that through our time together they gain healthy coping skills, and learn to embrace themselves with kindness rather than self-criticism. They also report more self-compassion, resilience, and a renewed sense of self.
I have a particular gift for working with children, helping them build emotional awareness, strengthen self-esteem, and develop healthy coping skills. I also work closely with parents and caregivers to support the entire family system, recognizing that growth happens best through connection and collaboration. Whether you or your child are working through stress, big emotions, or life changes, I’m here to walk alongside you because meaningful change happens over time, and therapy is a space where progress, not perfection, is the goal.
