Hi, I’m Dane DeCiero, LCSW. I see therapy as a space for honest reflection, practical problem-solving, and meaningful growth. With a background in school-based mental health and trauma-focused care, I work with adolescents, families, and individuals ready to explore change at their own pace. My approach is flexible, strengths-based, and grounded in collaboration.

- Work best with: Teens, LBGTQ+ Ally
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
My ideal patient is self-motivated and curious about their socioemotional growth. They may present with a wide range of issues, but they’re looking for someone to meet them where they are and approach growth at a pace that feels right for them. They are open to trying multiple approaches to find the best fit. My therapeutic style is conversational and goal oriented. I try to ensure that goals are re-assessed every 6-8 weeks and can change as needed. I work best with patients who like direct answers to direct questions.
I have 15 years of experience working with pre-teens and adolescents. While working with students in the school setting, I’ve also had the opportunity to work closely with their families to address issues in the different systems they are part of. I also work with patients who have experienced trauma and want to try EMDR. Patients have said that they appreciate me matching their pace and allowing for a high degree of patient self-determination. Some have noted I bring my identity markers, particularly as a dad to three young girls, into the therapeutic space.
I believe that good counseling starts with active listening to fully understand the barriers that are preventing you from thriving. My role is to provide a safe and confidential space that is free of judgment. My goal is to work together to highlight your strengths and figure out how they can be leveraged to overcome barriers.
