Have you ever felt like weekly therapy sessions just aren’t enough? Maybe you’re ready for change, but the slow pace feels frustrating. Or maybe your schedule makes it tough to commit to weekly appointments. That’s where EMDR intensives can help.
What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a powerful therapy that helps the brain heal from painful or overwhelming experiences. Instead of staying stuck in the past, EMDR helps your brain process those memories so they no longer carry the same emotional weight.
Why Choose an Intensive?
Traditional therapy usually happens once a week for about an hour. An EMDR intensive is different—it’s therapy in longer blocks of time (think half-day or full-day sessions). This can be especially helpful if you want to:
- Make faster progress without waiting months to feel better
- Focus deeply without the “stop and start” of weekly sessions
- Fit therapy around a busy schedule or travel plans
- Prepare for an important life transition by clearing out old patterns
What Does an Intensive Look Like?
Before your intensive, you’ll meet with a therapist for a free consultation to talk about your goals and make sure an EMDR Intensive is the right fit for you. During the intensive, you’ll spend extended time together working on the memories or challenges that feel most important—don’t worry, there are breaks built in to help you recharge.
After the intensive, your therapist will give you personalized recommendations for ongoing support. If you already see a therapist weekly, your EMDR therapist can communicate with them to make sure your healing continues smoothly and you feel supported every step of the way.
What Clients Say
Many people describe EMDR intensives as “life-changing.” By giving yourself dedicated time and space for healing, you can often experience relief more quickly—and start living with more freedom, peace, and energy.
