Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I’m Alex, an LPC-A and I wanted to share a bit about my background and approach. Your comfort and trust are paramount, and I am here to support you in making an informed decision about whether we can work together effectively.
Alex Henderson, LPC-A
Supervised by Amber Wrye, LPC-S (she, her)
- Work best with: Women, Young Adults, Veterans, Law Enforcement, First Responders, Couples, Families
- Appointments: Both in-person and telehealth
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
My therapy style is integrative and client-centered, grounded in a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, choice, and empowerment. I blend structured strategies like CBT and DBT with goal-focused, strengths-based techniques from SFBT, and incorporate ACT to help clients build flexibility and live in alignment with their values. Sessions are collaborative, practical, and tailored to each person’s needs, helping them create meaningful, sustainable change.
During intake, clients can expect a thorough but supportive conversation where I gather information about their history, current concerns, and goals. We’ll discuss mental health, medical background, lifestyle factors, and any previous therapy experiences. I also explain my approach, answer questions, and start building a collaborative plan so they feel safe, heard, and clear on what working together will look like.
My patients have concluded therapy with greater self-awareness, practical tools for managing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and clearer insight into patterns that may have held them back. They have gained skills for coping with stress, regulating emotions, and navigating relationships more effectively, as well as a stronger connection to their values and goals. Many of them have also reported feeling more empowered, confident, and resilient in facing life’s challenges.
