I entered this field because I am passionate about eliminating the mental illness stigma and closing the gap to access to care, particularly in black and indigenous people of color (BIPOC) communities. I was disheartened by the lack of access to care for my students and their families, as well as a lack of cultural representation in the field. Patients would say they appreciate my ability to relate in many ways; culturally, as a military veteran, as a single mother faced with many challenges, or even as a product of very strict religious beliefs, having grown up in the south. I believe that representation matters and has a huge influence on a community’s openness to seek mental health care.
I was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and I am a nine-year U.S. Air Force, active duty, war veteran. My Masters education included a concentration on Hispanic children & families. I have experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, depression, anxiety, children, teens, adults, & groups. I’m a certified Mental Health First Aider, specializing in suicide prevention and intervention and a Certified Grief Informed therapist.
My therapeutic approach is flexible and adaptable to each individual patient. Past patients have expressed appreciation for a truly safe space and open-mindedness approach. They have also expressed their ability to feel better about themselves, recognize growth, and how important it was for them to know I can relate and they were not alone. The energy experienced in a session with me, is warm and the atmosphere is comfortable to share and communicate.

When I am not in therapist mode, I am in mom mode! My son keeps me busy with varsity sports and traveling. I also enjoy spending time in the gym, cycling, taking vacations, or snuggling with my furry son, my mini Aussiemo, Enzo!
