A Breakthrough Treatment For Depression, Now Available In One Day

What Is TMS?

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-cleared treatment for depression that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Unlike medication, TMS works by directly targeting the neural circuits associated with depression.

Treatment is noninvasive and does not require anesthesia, sedation, or recovery time. Patients remain awake during sessions and can return to normal daily activities afterward. TMS is often recommended for people who haven't experienced enough improvement with antidepressants or who are looking for another option.

What Is One-Day TMS?

Traditional TMS treatment is typically delivered over several weeks through daily sessions. Our One-Day TMS program uses the Ampa One system to provide treatment in a single visit.

This format is designed for people who can't commit to a six-week schedule, but still want access to an evidence-based treatment for depression. Patients receive multiple carefully spaced sessions throughout the day, completing the full course of treatment by the time they go home.

When Medication Alone Isn’t Enough, One-Day TMS Can Help

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. It is FDA-cleared for depression and is often recommended for people who haven’t experienced enough improvement with medication or therapy alone.

Why Trying Another Medication May Not Be The Answer

Treatment-resistant depression is real, and it can leave people feeling like they are running out of options. If you’ve already tried multiple antidepressants without enough relief, it’s understandable to wonder whether trying another one will lead to a different result.

TMS works differently from medication. Rather than introducing a chemical into your system, it directly stimulates the brain circuits involved in depression.

Now Available In One Day

Traditional TMS is typically delivered over several weeks through daily sessions, which can be difficult to fit into everyday life.

Our One-Day TMS program uses the Ampa One system to provide treatment in a single visit without any disruption to your daily life. Patients return home the same day and resume their normal routine.

Is One-Day TMS Right For You?

One-Day TMS may be a good fit if any of these apply to you:

  • You've tried antidepressants without enough improvement
  • Side effects make it difficult to stay on your current medication
  • You're looking for a treatment option beyond medication
  • Symptoms are still interfering with your ability to live your life
  • You have work, family, or travel obligations that make daily appointments difficult
  • You're traveling from outside Austin or Dallas and want to complete treatment in a single visit
  • You've completed standard TMS before and want to avoid another six-week treatment schedule

How It Works

How One-Day TMS Works

The Ampa One system delivers precise magnetic pulses to areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Treatment is completed in a single day through a series of sessions with breaks in between. You return home the same day.

  • Free consultation and evaluation

Before your treatment day, you'll meet with one of our psychiatric providers to determine whether One-Day TMS is a good fit for you. We'll review your history, answer questions, and walk you through what to expect.

  • Personalizing your treatment

Your treatment day begins with a brief calibration session to make sure the treatment settings are personalized for you before sessions begin.

  • Multiple TMS sessions throughout the day

Treatment is completed through a series of sessions spaced throughout the day with breaks in between. During breaks, you're free to rest, eat, read, or relax.

  • Return home the same day

There is no recovery period. You return home at the end of the day and resume your normal routine.

  • Follow-up care

Our team checks in with you in the days and weeks after treatment to see how you're feeling and connect you with any additional therapy or psychiatry support if needed.

Journeys to Healing

Real experiences shared by patients who turned therapy into transformation.

We are so happy with the help our daughter is getting and the ways the therapist is working with me and my husband as well. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who is struggling to find mental health support.

I felt very comfortable speaking to David during my first session. I felt as if I was in a safe space to be vulnerable and some of his suggestions opened the door to me working on healing!

Thus far I’m EXTREMELY PLEASED with my Therapist & services. She is very warm & Professional. Her abilities to both listen & interpret my emotions & problems is invaluable for me & my recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about what to expect as you take the next step in your journey.

Is One-Day TMS as effective as the standard six-week protocol?

Research into accelerated TMS protocols has shown encouraging results, with outcomes that may be comparable to traditional TMS for many patients. This is a newer approach, and results can vary from person to person. Our team can help you understand whether One-Day TMS makes sense for your situation.

Is it covered by insurance?

Standard TMS is covered by most major insurance plans. Because One-Day TMS is a newer accelerated protocol, it is typically not yet covered by insurance and is offered on a self-pay basis. We’ll walk you through pricing during your consultation. For patients where insurance coverage is important, our standard Deep TMS program may be the better path.

Is it safe to do multiple TMS sessions in one day?

Yes. TMS therapy is generally well tolerated and has been shown to be safe in clinical studies. Some patients experience mild scalp discomfort or headache during treatment, but these side effects are typically temporary and manageable. The Ampa One system is designed specifically to support accelerated treatment protocols.

What conditions does this treat?

The Ampa One system is FDA-cleared for treatment-resistant depression. Our psychiatric team will review your history during the consultation and give you an honest answer about whether it’s right for you.

Do I need to stop my current medications?

Not necessarily. TMS can often be used alongside existing medications. However, some medications may affect how you respond to treatment. Your provider will review everything you’re currently taking during the evaluation and give you specific guidance based on what you’re taking.

Where is this offered?

One-day TMS is currently available at our Austin and Dallas clinics. Your free consultation can be completed via telehealth from anywhere in Texas, so you can get your questions answered before committing to treatment.
