Therapy with me will start with establishing a strong therapeutic relationship, in which you feel safe to be your most authentic self, address hard truths, and be honest about what you want in your life and your relationships. Once you feel safe, I will bring in elements of IFS, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and, at times, hard skills to help you slow down and engage with the parts of yourself that are needing attention, love, and understanding. In both couples therapy and individual therapy, I seek to help you foster compassion and understanding for your authentic self and for your partner, so that you may live the life you really want.

Our first intake session will be different than the rest of our sessions. I will be asking a lot of questions in a semi-structured way to get to know you better. These will be about your upbringing, current life, relationships, mental health history, relationship history, and what symptoms or challenges you are currently experiencing. We will also discuss what you’re hoping to get out of therapy and what expectations you might have of me, if any. I will be taking some notes so that I can accurately recount everything you share.

My patients have expressed feeling a sense of safety and warmth in our sessions. They have described me as patient and caring. They have attributed aspects of the growth and fulfillment they have achieved to the work they put in with me. Patients have described increased self-esteem and confidence, improvements in their relationships, and better understanding of themselves and their partners. My patients have expressed that this atmosphere of acceptance and warmth has itself been therapeutic, and has allowed them to love who they are today and imagine more for their future.

I aim to foster an environment where, even just for an hour a week, you don’t feel judged for any part of yourself. Where your authentic self isn’t wrong or immoral or deficient. Where you are enough.
