Individuals over age 13:

First, I listen to your story without any judgment and only then offer perspectives on how to help you meet your chosen goals. Any issue in your life that affects your emotions is important to our work together. Your whole person informs how you feel. We can talk about your family, physical health, financial woes, relationships, career decisions, cultural background, sexual identity, and anything else that is on your mind. My approach is always centered on which strategy or coping skill addresses your needs. In the jargon of the field, these approaches are labeled Eclectic, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Holistic, CBT, DBT, IFS, among others. That means I match what you want to accomplish in therapy to the hundreds of ways to get there.

Couples and Families:

I love the challenges and joys of helping people in relationships to understand how to do better for themselves and each other. I welcome couples with varying identities, stages of commitment, styles of affection, and goals for counseling. Goals for loving relationships are not limited to having a happy marriage. Couples who are thinking about committing long term, or who are in the middle of a family breakup, or anywhere in between, can benefit from an objective perspective on how to best relate to one another.  Lifespan and Systems theories are important to all counseling, particularly the work with couples and families. I also use Gottman principles when seeing couples.

Personal Interests

In my free time, I do yoga, spoil my grandbaby, walk my dog, do yoga and swim. Even though I am a “pink hat” (fan when it’s fun), I am a sports good luck charm. Since I moved to Texas y’all have won two World Series and my new hometown gave the world a Super Bowl QB. I like to think my spending 30 years in Massachusetts helped the Pats, Sox, C’s and B’s win their trophies.
