Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you deserve a space where you feel heard, supported, and understood. My name is Denisa Washington, LPC. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that honors where you are today while helping you build insight, confidence, and practical tools for meaningful, lasting change. As you explore my background and approach, I hope you feel confident in deciding whether we’re the right fit to work together. My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to be yourself as we navigate your unique experiences together.

I strive to create a space where patients feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences while also feeling challenged and empowered to grow. During the intake session, patients can expect a relaxed and collaborative conversation focused on understanding their concerns, goals, history, and strengths. I gather information about symptoms, relationships, previous treatment experiences, and areas of life that may be contributing to current challenges. Together, we begin identifying goals and developing a treatment plan that feels meaningful and achievable.
Patients often report feeling more confident, self-aware, and equipped with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Many describe improved emotional regulation, healthier boundaries, stronger relationships, and greater clarity about their values and goals. Patients frequently share that they appreciated having a space where they felt genuinely heard, understood, and supported.
Patients often describe me as warm, authentic, approachable, and easy to talk to. I balance empathy with gentle accountability, helping patients feel both supported and challenged in meaningful ways. My background across inpatient, correctional, community mental health, and private practice settings allows me to meet patients with flexibility and perspective across a wide range of experiences.
