Hi, I’m Lizzie Berman, LPC. I work with teens and adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, and major life changes. My approach is warm, straightforward, and centered around helping you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward. Whether you’re working through painful experiences or just feeling stuck, I’m here to help you make sense of it and reconnect with what matters most to you.
Elizabeth Berman, LPC
- Work best with: Veterans, Law Enforcement, First Responders, LGBTQ+ individuals or couples, Religious Trauma, Domestic Violence: Active, Domestic Violence: History, Gay Allied, Lesbian Allied, Sex Worker Allied
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
I’m a client-centered therapist who believes people aren’t broken, they’re just stuck. My approach blends warmth, directness, and a focus on shifting thought patterns to create meaningful change. Whether someone is coming in for the first time or returning after a break, I work to make therapy a safe, steady space where they feel supported and understood. During our first session, I take time to understand what’s bringing you in, clarify your goals, and set the tone for open and collaborative work ahead.
Much of my experience has been with LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly teens and young adults navigating identity, gender dysphoria, and internalized shame. My role is to offer a supportive space where clients can unpack difficult emotions and connect more deeply with their authentic selves. I’ve also worked with high-functioning autistic individuals, focusing on social skills, emotional awareness, and behavior strategies to support growth in their daily lives.
Many clients have shared that therapy with me feels more comfortable than they expected. I try to bring a balance of honesty, warmth, and even a little humor into the room when it’s appropriate. Over time, I’ve seen people grow in self-awareness, strengthen their communication, and develop more patience with themselves. While the work can be challenging, I believe it doesn’t always have to be heavy; sometimes meaningful progress happens through small, unexpected moments of connection.
