My name is Heather, and I’m a licensed professional counselor here at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy. Seeking help and finding the right therapist for you can be a daunting and challenging process. The key to positive, lasting change is finding a therapist who will tailor your treatment based on your individual needs and strengths, and help you overcome the behaviors and thoughts that are getting in your way. You need someone who will listen and understand you without judgment, support you through these changes, be honest with you, and challenge you when needed. My passion is working with adults and teens who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, work/life balance, and life transitions. Our work together will be tailored toward your unique needs in an interactive, compassionate, flexible, and consistently supportive environment. I use a variety of evidence-based therapy treatments based on each client and their current issues and preferences.

Credentials
Education
I received my Bachelor in Psychology at Texas A&M University in 2010 and went on to get my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Texas at Tyler in 2014. I’ve worked in a variety of therapeutic settings. I worked leading a treatment team at Rusk State Hospital, and have worked in other inpatient settings. I knew that the work I did was meaningful, but once I started working in private practice several years ago, I knew that was ultimately what I was meant to do.
Personal Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy working out, going to any body of water (lake, river, ocean) when I can, playing board games, listening to music, trying new activities and food, and spending time with friends and family.
