Hi, I’m Kristina Heitzman, a licensed marriage and family therapist. I work with adults, adolescents, couples, and families facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, and anger management. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences, build insight, and develop practical tools to improve emotional well-being, strengthen relationships, and navigate life with greater clarity and confidence.
Kristina Heitzman, LMFT
- Work best with: Veterans, Law Enforcement, First Responders, LGBTQ+ individuals or couples, Religious Trauma, Domestic Violence: History, Bisexual Allied, Deaf Allied, Gay Allied, Lesbian Allied, Non-Binary Allied, Queer Allied, Sex Worker Allied, Single Mother, Transgender Allied
- Manage Medications: Provides therapy and collaborates closely with our psychiatry team for medication management, available through internal referral if needed.
My therapy style begins with meeting a client where they are at. I use a calm voice and listening ear to provide a space for clients to learn about themselves and feel comfortable expressing thoughts and emotions. I try to gently challenge individual to learn about mind and body and how these have affected current life situations and how past has developed these responses.
Past patients have presented with trauma, anxiety, anger, and depression. Some will experience being stuck in certain moments and some may feel unmotivated at times. Through our time together, they have gotten to know themselves better while learning to understand how the mind and body work together. They have gotten to develop skills that they can take with them into the future. They have stated gratitude for having a space to get to process through different experiences and been given the space to do this. I would love to help you do the same.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I prioritize creating a relaxed, supportive environment where you feel safe to share openly. Together, we’ll focus on identifying patterns that may hold you back and developing practical skills to help you move forward confidently and clearly.
