Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I’m Paula, a LMSW and I wanted to share a bit about my background and approach. Your comfort and trust are paramount, and I am here to support you in making an informed decision about whether we can work together effectively.

My style is flexible and person-centered, an eclectic blend of approaches that support a safe, affirming environment where patients-especially those in the LGBTQ+ community-feel seen, respected, and understood. Together, we focus on what feels most helpful and meaningful for you. Patients can expect our intake session to be about getting to know you without pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. We walk through what’s been going on, what led you to seek therapy, and what you’d like to focus on during our time together. We’ll discuss your goals and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, with plenty of space to ask questions.
I am especially committed to increasing access to care for individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, where mental health services may be limited or stigma may be present. My background in anthropology informs my ability to build cultural understanding, find common ground, and approach each patient with respect for their unique worldview. I am known for my persistence and dedication, particularly in complex cases, and I strive to find practical, achievable solutions that are both culturally sensitive and deeply respectful of each person’s lived experience.
