My name is Ricky, and I’m a Psychiatric Physician Assistant here at Deep Centered Psychiatry. Feeling comfortable with your mental health provider is incredibly important, so I wanted to briefly share about myself so that you could make the best decision for your care moving forward.
Ricky Mitchell, PA
- Work best with: Young Adults, Adults, Multiple Presenting Symptoms
- Manage Medications: Yes. Prescribes and manages medication to support your overall mental health goals.
Due to my desire for excitement and helping people, I began my career as a paramedic and thoroughly enjoyed it, however I felt that I could make more of an impact in a different area. I ended up choosing to go to Physician Assistant school and was drawn to psychiatry because I saw the impact that could be made on someone’s life and felt like it would be an honor to be a part of the process.
Through our time together, patients will hopefully feel more in control of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It’s important that you feel empowered by your knowledge of physical and mental health and how they affect each other. My hope is that you have the confidence to tackle life on your own moving forward, whether that’s with or without medication.

Personal Interests
I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people, have new experiences, and seeing new things. That mindset has brought me to live in several different states including Illinois, Idaho, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and North Carolina. I’ve really enjoyed becoming part of those communities and learning about the unique aspects of the geography and cultures found there.
