My name is Yesenia, LMSW, LCDC. I’m excited to connect with you and share a bit about myself and my approach. As you explore my background and the way I work, it’s crucial that you feel confident in choosing the right practitioner for your journey. I’m here to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space where we can collaboratively navigate your unique experiences.

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and integrative. I use a person-centered and empowering approach while incorporating CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, and strengths-based interventions based on each patient’s individual needs. During the intake session, we’ll take time to get to know you, understand what brings you to therapy, and discuss your current concerns, strengths, and goals. We’ll review relevant history and explore how your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily life may be affecting you. I’ll also answer questions you may have about therapy and work collaboratively with you to develop a treatment approach that feels appropriate for your needs. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of our direction moving forward.
I place a strong emphasis on rapport and creating a space where patients feel comfortable being themselves, meeting them where they are without judgment. I believe therapy can be both meaningful and approachable, so I may occasionally use humor, video game references, or a little “nerd language” when it helps connect with a patient or make a concept easier to understand. Ultimately, I want patients to feel that they are working with a real person who listens, understands, and genuinely partners with them in the process of change.

Personal Interests
I’m originally from Florida, so I’m still a transplant learning all the ins and outs of Texas life! Outside of therapy, I love traveling, scrapbooking, discovering new restaurants, and trying cuisines from different cultures. I’m also a sci-fi and gaming enthusiast, with a particular love for Star Trek and video games. I’m a proud dog mom to two corgis, who have very different personalities and plenty of opinions of their own. I enjoy exploring new experiences, capturing moments through photography, laughing often, and finding the little things that make life more fun.
