I love my therapist, Albert. He understands me and pivots as needed and pushes me in very healthy ways. This is really my first experience with therapy and I was really scared but I can't imagine doing this with anyone else. He's incredible.

While I've only just had my intake session, this isn't my first rodeo. I'm quite particular about the professionals I allow in my head. The therapist I met came highly recommended by a close friend. In the short 1hr session, they showed me that they are a well educated, understanding, intelligent, caring therapist. But most importantly, they listened to what I had to say. They created a safe space for me to express myself and talk about what is and isn't troubling me. I very much look forward to the work we'll do. As for location/findability & insurance.. It was very easy to find the WF Tower, and it's a short elevator ride to DCTC on the 6th floor. It may sound silly, but that all makes it much easier to make it to my therapy when I don't want to (which imo, is the most important time to go). I'll update my review in a few months with a more complete review.

I work with two mental health medical professionals at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy and for the first time in about 20 years I believe I am finally getting the help I need. I am someone that struggles to ask for help and be vulnerable and instantly felt comfortable with both counselors I work with. I plan to keep on going and will say this is the longest I've been in therapy.

I am working with a great therapist (Merideth) on IFS therapy who’s helping me get in touch with my internal parts and I’m learning to give my parts what they have long been lacking, compassion, acceptance and love. It’s made a huge difference in how I navigate the world and how I love myself. Getting therapy was the greatest gift I could ever give myself. If you’re on the fence, afraid, I encourage you to take a leap of faith and get into therapy. I promise you won’t regret it. PS not all therapists will be a fit for you. Try a few until you find the person who you fit with and you feel seen and safe with.

Questions about getting started in Denton

How quickly can I get an appointment at the Denton location?

Most new patients are seen within the same week of their first call or online request. Same-day appointments are occasionally available for urgent situations. Call us at (512) 956-6463 or use our online booking portal to check real-time availability.

Do you accept insurance at the Denton office?

Yes — we accept most major insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, and more. We also offer self-pay and sliding scale rates. You can verify your coverage online or call us and we’ll check your benefits for free.

Can I do telehealth instead of coming in person?

Absolutely. We offer both in-person sessions at our 101 S Locust Street office and telehealth appointments via secure video for patients anywhere in Texas. Many of our patients do a mix of both depending on their schedule.

Do I need a referral to book a therapy appointment?

No referral is needed. You can book directly online or by phone. We’ll ask a few questions to match you with the right therapist based on your needs and insurance. The whole intake process takes about 10 minutes.

Is my therapy confidential?

Yes, completely. Everything discussed in therapy is protected by HIPAA privacy laws. Information is only shared in very limited circumstances (imminent risk of harm to self or others) which your therapist will explain fully in your first session.
